Although I (the Bad Man) am no fan of sweet wine, the very slightly off-dry (often classified as “sec” (dry)) Vouvrays really send me – it just seems the exact taste that a “white wine” should have.  I know I’m in a tiny minority when I say I prefer Chenin Blanc to any other white wine, but it just seems to be the perfect white wine grape.

I think what you respond to in this varietal is the creaminess- a favorite element of yours in all wines. And the bright fruit and round mouthfeel is also a plus. Sometimes simple is simply delicious! No apologies necessary.

It is odd that we were both right down the line on the bottom 3, with the most expensive dead last, but varied once again on the winner. I guess we’re pretty in sync with what’s not good but prefer slightly different styles when awarding top honors. It’s all good- that’s what keeps it interesting.
