Mixed cheap reds – Maiden Voyage (assaggio majoralus)

The very first Royal Tannin Bomb tasting.

Tasting Date: 05/03/2008
Tasting Geeks: Tally-Ho, Full Throttle, Bad Man
Tasting Theme: Mixed cheap reds – Maiden Voyage – Dress Rehearsal

The Contenders:
Palazzo Della Torre 2004 Veronese Allegrini, Italy
Monsanto 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva, Italy
Veramonte 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Valley, Chile
Los Vascos 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Valley, Chile

Grant you, our little venture (The Royal Tannin Bombs) did have a slightly rocky maiden voyage but many months and many bottles later we’re a scrappy lot who can be counted on to cover the gamut conversationally, culturally, and artistically. Even our least successful efforts (few in number) eclipsed many other social/educational evenings I’ve spend in my life… and hey, there was always wine, so no whining from me.
